The AmeriCorps Education Coordinator at Grays Harbor NWR will serve with local teachers, students and the community at large to foster a better understanding of natural resources. The member's main focus will be to assist local teachers and students in learning more about Grays Harbor NWR by providing classroom presentations, educational materials, teacher training, and assistance on Refuge field trips.
This position will assist in delivering all programs of NREP and have lead responsibility for coordinating the Water Quality Monitoring Program, which serves 450 students with in-class and field-based experiences. This position also manages volunteer outreach, training, and events in partnership with other watershed organizations working on citizen science, monitoring, and environmental recovery projects. Occasional weekends and evenings required.
