Purpose of Job: To ensure the education mission of the CFAIA by administering educational programming at the Cradle of Forestry in America.
The Alabama 4-H Center rests on 264 acres of lush rolling woodlands along the banks of beautiful Lay Lake and is surrounded by some of the state’s most ecologically diverse features, including the Cahaba River, Talladega National Forest, Cheaha Wilderness and Oak Mountain State Park. The center is also located only 35 miles from Birmingham, a culturally diverse city with excellent dining, music and arts.

The Marine Science Camp Intern will work with education staff and Camp Instructor to lead or co-lead engaging hands-on games and activities focused on marine science content and co-facilitate eight weeks of summer camp.
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, chemistry, natural science, or a related field and one year of related environmental experience; or any equivalent combination of related training and experience.
The M.S. in Experiential and Outdoor Education* is a two-year hybrid program. The degree utilizes the philosophy of experiential education combined with the modality of outdoor education to provide students with necessary training to serve in a variety of educational contexts.

Cost: The workshop is free and lunch will be provided on both days. Participants are responsible for their own lodging.
Support: Teachers will receive renewal credits and a $100 stipend after project completion.

The Kentucky Green & Healthy Schools Coordinator will coordinate the Kentucky Green & Healthy Schools (KGHS) program, which encourages students in Kentucky K-12 schools to complete projects that improve the sustainability and health of their schools.

The Marine Conservation masters degree program which falls under our Master of Professional Science (take the same courses as Ph.D. and MS students, but instead of a thesis/dissertation, you do an internship/research in the field with organizations such as NOAA, NPS, NGOs, etc. and 94% of students have a job in the field 6 months after graduation)

The Director of Sustainability’s primary responsibilities include fostering a culture of sustainability among faculty, staff, and students; identifying and prioritizing areas for institutional sustainability efforts; planning and developing long- and short-range programs; and engaging with institutional leaders to foster sustainability broadly across campus units. A main function of the position is to reduce the VCU carbon footprint.
