The McDowell Environmental Center (MEC) is hiring a full-time Head Naturalist to join our team! We are looking for someone who is eager to share their love and knowledge of southeastern flora and fauna with the staff and guests of Camp McDowell. The Head Naturalist will be the fifth member of the MEC leadership team, helping to ensure the smooth operation of our residential programming. We are looking for an enthusiastic kindergarten teacher to foster and facilitate the intellectual and social development of the children at Nature Connect Outdoor School. Teaching kindergarten includes planning, implementing, and assessing lessons. You will teach children with patience and creativity. Kindergarten teacher duties include designing a teaching plan and using activities and instructional methods to motivate children in an outdoor environment.

Educators at Little Mountain Forest School are passionate about providing a safe and nurturing environment for children that encourages their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development in an outdoor, nature-based setting. Our nature preschool meets half-day from August to May at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, AL.
