Connections Feed

Environmental education is unique in that it brings together place-specific needs and global-scale awareness at the intersections of the physical and social worlds. Yet, how can lessons learned in one location be repositioned elsewhere without applying one-size-fits-all solutions? Attendees will explore and expand upon this question during this session. The file attached to this post is the handout used during the session, and is an excellent starting point for understanding network leadership. Feel free to reach out to me if you would like more information.

This collection presents core concepts and case examples of ways in which networked learning provide opportunities to support resilience, environmental education, and social change. An original conference session was to present and discuss topics relating to the challenges of scaling environmental education. These items represent a source for examining scale and related questions, with a focus on networks to aid understanding and foster innovation.

Resource

Social Responsibility and the World of Nature is an introduction to some of the key issues, principles and debates in contemporary environmental thought, as well as an exploration of humanity’s role as participants within the natural world. The course offers an opportunity to discover how various perspectives on nature have guided social change, influenced our choices, and shaped global cultural development. Through these investigations we will also consider how individual and collective action can connect with, influence, and ultimately guides the process of change within the greater whole.
