Overview:
Duties performed in this position include, but are not limited to: The incumbent of this full-time position primarily functions as a living history interpreter on an active mid-19th century farm with 16 restored log structures. She conducts programs which may include guided walks, demonstrations, environmental education activities, illustrated talks, roving interpretation, or first-person portrayals. She demonstrates 19th century domestic work including wood stove and hearth cooking, spinning, weaving, domestic trades, household gardening, and special events for the general public and organized groups. She serves as host to visitors, carrying out a variety of duties related to sharing necessary information with the visitor to LBL. She should possess a helper spirit to support the extended staff of the HP in its efforts to serve the public. The successful candidate must be available for varied schedule with weekend and holiday work, have a warm and enthusiastic demeanor, should be team-oriented, and quality customer service driven.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate knowledge and proficiency with the following: generally accepted Interpretation techniques and positive customer service techniques.
