Westbrook Nature School, located in Redding, CT is looking for a teacher with Head Teacher credentials, to spearhead a new afternoon preschool program, three days a week from 12:30PM to 3:30 PM. She may also work two mornings in the preschool from 8:00 AM to 12:15 PM.  Start date for this position is late August, 2019.

Westbrook is located on 6 acres with forests, the Saugatuck River, and open spaces. Each school day, takes place outside in all but extreme weather to the teacher must love the outdoors and have a talent for outdoor work.  Our teachers have an inherent interest in nature and are excited to continue adding to their knowledge of the natural world and to share in the young child’s sense of wonder.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the care and education of the children as part of a teaching team, and will function as a team leader. With the Director, the Head Teacher will plan and implement the curriculum. With active participation of other members of the teaching team, they will work with parents to assess the needs of individual children.
