Overview:
Duties: Plan, teach, and lead outdoor lessons in Ecology (forest, wetland, wildlife, and winter ecology), Geology, Social Science (living history, archaeology, early American history), Adventure (group building, low ropes, orienteering, outdoor skills), and Evening Programs (night hike, campfire, underground railroad, etc.) to school students primarily in grades 4-8. Evening duties required (two to four nights per week). Help create a supportive community for students, visiting teachers, administrators, parents, and other staff, help with non-teaching resource projects on a rotating basis, help with limited kitchen duties, and participate in trail and grounds maintenance.
Qualifications: Successful candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Bachelor’s Degree required. Degree in environmental education, education, science, or a related field and prior experience teaching children and/or leading outdoor environmental education programs required. Certifications in First Aid and CPR are required by the starting date. Experience with song leading, story telling, and/or addressing large groups is a plus. The start date is February 12, 2018

Compensation Information:
$65/day ($70/day for certified teacher), private room, housing with wireless internet and cable TV, dining hall meals when students are in residence, some staff house food supplies, and free laundry room.
