Through active, field based explorations and age-appropriate outdoor adventures, Camp Foxfire nurtures each child's curiosity and helps them gain confidence and self-respect while building relationships with other children and the natural world. This is a full-time temporary summer position with a start date of June 17, 2019 and ending August 12, 2019. The hourly rate is $14.00-$15.00/per hour, depending upon grade level. Work schedule is Monday – Friday. Red Cross First Aid and CPR training is provided. Requires a drug screen and criminal background check before hiring.

Our Ideal Candidate will:

• Teach hands-on environmental education programs with an emphasis on science, nature, and agriculture to Pre-K – 8th grade students
• Possess a genuine passion for working with youth in the outdoors
• Lead active, field based explorations outdoors in all kinds of weather
• Prepare materials and equipment for all lesson components; maintain a clean and organized learning space
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of program participants
• Display high level of commitment and enthusiasm for all camp activities
• Maintain positive relationships with campers, parents/guardians and staff
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
• Work well on a team

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old
• One year of college studies and/or teaching experience in natural studies or environmental education
• Willingness and ability to do active work outdoors in all types of weather
