Share Your Rural Community’s Good Work With a RuralRISE Quick Pitch

The RuralRISE Summit is an annual gathering of people and organizations working to increase opportunities and prosperity for small and rural communities across the United States. This year’s event is Sept. 28-30 in Emporia, Kansas. In preparation, organizers are inviting (short) proposals for Quick Pitches, crisp 5-minute overviews of a program or project that is scalable, repeatable, and has been successful in your rural community. They’ve been an audience favorite at previous Summits, and this year, can be presented in person or by video, which will be posted to the RuralRISE website and social media accounts. Proposals due July 1.

Hi Michele! I took a look at some of the 2021 Rural Rise Virtual Summit recordings, and I feel so hopeful about the advancement of essential tools like broadband to address the digital divide.

One of the quotes that stood out to me was from the Pennsylvania Wilds Center, "Our core impacted region is part of Appalachia and has seen decades of population decline, industry contraction, and divestment. However, our region is also home to second to none outdoor experiences that can create new economic and social benefits for our rural community."

I think this quote really speaks to some of the issues and opportunities rural communities face.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I also think it would be a good post to share in NAAEE's eeNEWS. And great timing, too! The next newsletter is coming up soon. If interested, would you consider adding the Quick Pitch Proposal Form as an eePRO opportunity?
