My husband and I were invited to host Earth Day in Uganda by the Rural Teachers’ Association and Women Build Communities. I was going to make a speech about how students should teach their parents to respect the Earth. Unfortunately, Earth Day in Uganda was cancelled. However, I did create an agenda for the event. Remember the Rainforest 1 is based on the Martius-Spix expedition to the rainforest of Brazil. I found Martius' 40 volume Flora Brasiliensis, the expedition journals, and all of the zoological works of the expedition in the rare book library at Lehigh University which is only 15 minutes from my home ! This coincidence was a miracle. Not being one to deny miracles, I dedicated myself to making this rare gift accessible to all students. Please share this agenda… Best regards, Carol Miranda Chor

As the Refuse/Recycling Coordinator for Waterbury, CT, my role and "stage" as an environmental educator is likely different from those of classroom educators and those working at nature centers and in other non-classroom settings. My shift during Corona is also different. One of my primary means for reaching residents with sustainability messages has been through recycling magic shows and enviromagic on other topics such as household hazardous waste, water etc. Since I cannot current perform live, in-person, I have taken to performing for video, sometimes live (FB Live) and sometimes pre-recorded. While this eliminates most of delightful relationship-building and chemistry that is created in interacting with an audience, important to behavior change, I endeavor to deliver empowering messages via video. There are 2 videos of a minute or so each (Eng and Span) on plastic bag problems, and a 20 minute video for World Water Day which is an on-line version of Water Wizard.
