Hi all, my department was recently awarded an "Engaged Department" grant from our institution. I am looking to connect with others who have been involved in this work from an EE perspective. Our department houses several distinct and unrelated programs, and we see this as an opportunity to unite toward a shared goal with core competencies for student learning related to community-engaged learning and service-learning. Our next task is to develop a mission statement for our "Engaged Department", and I would love to hear some examples of ED work and related mission statements within EE. It's based on Kevin Kecskes's work out of Portland State (see book and article linked below)
