I was chatting recently with another utility-based colleague, and we suddenly realized that--depending on the severity and length of the economic downturn--those of us who work in the public sector may find ourselves able to work when many of our nonprofit colleagues cannot. I realize it is still very early in this global crisis, but has anyone else been thinking this? What are our responsibilities now? What will they be, in the near future, when we may still have operating budgets that others do not?
I welcome any thoughts in this space, and an ongoing discussion, to help us be more ready to offer programs and support our partners and friends through the tougher times, as they come. Thank you all for what you do.
