Dear members of the North American Association for Environmental Education,

The Special Issue of the Japanese Journal of Environmental Education: Environmental Education in Asia (JJEE-EEA) is an international, peer-reviewed journal, publishing high-quality, original research. We welcome any academic papers to be submitted to the next special issue of JJEE-EEA that focus on environmental education in Asia.

Eligibility of authors who can submit papers to this journal are members of
the Japanese Society for Environmental Education (JSFEE) as well as members of those societies that have Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with JSFEE. Those societies are;
the Korean Society for Environmental Education,
the Chinese Society for Environmental Education,
the North American Association for Environmental Education, and
the Australian Association for Environmental Education.

Nonmembers may be included as secondary authors.

The first special issue; JJEE-EEA2017 including eleven papers was published in 2017 and the second special issue; JJEE-EEA2019 including twelve papers was published in 2019 (available at https://www.jstage.jst.go.jp/browse/jsoee/28/4/_contents/-char/en).

To continue pursuing the original objectives of this special issue, for example, to find similarities and differences among environmental education in Asia, and to identify possible contributions Asia can offer to the global environmental education network, the next issue, which is scheduled to be published in December 2021, will be composed of two parts. The first part is the Special Theme Papers; outcome of international collaborative research projects pre-appointed by JSFEE [less than 10 papers are expected to be published]. The second part is open for any academic papers regarding environmental education in Asia [several papers are expected to be published]. In this second part, we welcome academic papers that are specifically aiming to find similarities and differences among environmental education in Asia (with, for example, special attention to Asian culture and society), and to identify possible contributions Asia can offer to the global environmental education network or to enhance environmental education research in Asia.

If you are interested to submit an academic paper to this special issue, please read the attached "Proposal for a special issue of the Japanese Journal of Environmental Education titled "Environmental Education in Asia 2021" (JJEE-EEA2021).

The deadline for submitting the manuscript is January 5th (in Japanese time), 2021.

As for the word limits and style guidelines, please refer to the attached Submission Guidelines for Authors and Guidelines for Authors.

All submitted papers will be reviewed by reviewers, and the judgment to accept or reject will be determined by the Editorial Committee.

There are no submission fees or page charge for this journal as long as the papers meet requirements.

This journal is published online through the Japan Science and Technology Information Aggregator, Electronic (J-STAGE) developed by Japan Science and Technology Agency. Papers published on J-STAGE can be accessed from anywhere in the world with ease and at low cost.
