exciting virtual events working to make the outdoors more equitable and accessible to all.

Please join Natural Lands in two upcoming events: Outdoors Online with Latino Outdoors on April 22 and Outdoors Online with Black Girls Run with Jay Ell on April 29, both 6:30 - 7:30 PM EST.

Even if you can't attend that day, register, and you will get a recording of the event. We are excited to highlight these national groups that focus locally.

Latino Outdoors seeks to create a community of national leaders in conservation and outdoor education by connecting to and engaging with Latino communities and embracing cultura y familia as part of the outdoor narrative. This ensures our history, heritage, and leadership are valued and represented. We focus on expanding and amplifying the Latinx experience in the outdoors locally and abroad.

During this virtual discussion, Latino Outdoors speakers will share stories of building communities, discuss challenges, and provide insights for our communities and our allies. They’ll showcase how conservation roots have been ingrained in la cultura Latina for generations.

Black Black Girls RUN!, created in 2009, is a nationwide community organization that motivates women to take charge of their own health. Conceived to tackle the growing obesity epidemic in the African American community, this group of runners is determined to confront this health crisis head on by encouraging Black women to get healthy by training together. They want to start a movement to encourage ALL women to get off the couch and get active.

Jay Ell Alexander, CEO and founder of Black Girls Run!, will share why it is important for all of us to take a moment to refocus on self-care and take some time to enjoy the outdoors.
