Early Childhood Resources from Natural Start

Hi everyone! I hope you are all staying safe and healthy and adjusting as best you can to the new normal.

Natural Start has been working hard to pull together resources that early childhood educators and parents might find useful right now. We encourage you to explore what we've gathered, share what resources you've found the most useful, and let us know what other resources might support you at this time.

Additionally, Natural Start has organized two forums to take place next week--one focused on program administrators and owners and another focused on teachers--to explore the implications of the crisis for the nature-based education community.

Thank you so much for this important work! Just to add to this theme: as an environmental educator and parent (suddenly with my 3 and 5 year olds home full time), I've really appreciated groups that are providing loads of backyard nature play ideas daily via social media. There is currently a great opportunity for kids to play in backyards and nearby nature but parents and kids at times need some guidance to get back in the habit.
I'm loving the Everyday Outside initiative of Free Forest School- a great social media community of parents getting their kids outside. And Childhood by Nature's inspiration for activities that can take place in backyards or while social distancing.

Where are you finding inspiration and support for early learners and their parents who are staying at home?

Thanks and stay safe!
