How are you celebrating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day?

How are you engaging with your community (while practicing social distancing) during this Earth Week? See how one nature center is celebrating all week with activities that will help uplift one another and better steward the environment. Share what you are doing to celebrate Earth Week so that others can learn and promote at their sites/schools. #EarthDay2020

Join Galveston Bay Foundation live on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram to celebrate 50 years of Earth Day on April 22nd from 10am – 3pm! Each 10-15 minute live video segment will feature a different program, project or action that promotes a healthy Bay and healthy planet. We will also talk about what you can do at home to celebrate 50 years of Earth Day and answer your questions.

The Schedule:

Nurdle Nick (10 – 10:15am CST) – What’s a nurdle? And why are they an issue for the Bay? Find out when you tune into Nick’s 10am segment.

Sustainable Sasha (Noon – 12:15pm CST) – Sustainable Sasha will show you tips and tricks to reuse and recycle materials in the Houston-Galveston area.

Bay Bob (2 – 2:15pm CST) – Galveston Bay Foundation President Bob Stokes gives a tour of our Kemah property and what’s in store for the future.

Earth Day Resolutions (2:45 – 3pm CST) – From composting to trash pickup, our staff is making individual Earth Day resolutions to help Galveston Bay. Tune in to see what they are!
