6th Annual Green STEM Summit - Virtual for 2020!

Junior High and High School Science Teachers/Community College Professors,

Are you looking for virtual STEM-related content in these challenging times? As seen in the attached flyer, the Santa Clarita Environmental Education Consortium (SCEEC) will hold its 6th Annual Green STEM Summit virtually on October 24, 2020 from 8 AM to noon PST. Junior high, high school and community college students throughout the US are invited to speak with ninety STEM professionals from industry, government, academia and non-profit organizations during this online career fair. Students will be able to explore career pathways and hear about special STEM opportunities in six program tracks:
• Track 1 - Engineering & Technology
• Track 2 - Advanced Manufacturing
• Track 3 - Natural & Physical Sciences
• Track 4 - Environmental Art, Ethics & Design
• Track 5 - Biomimicry & Biotechnology
• Track 6 - Special STEM Opportunities & Animal Exhibit
The Summit also includes a STEM Research Project Video Competition for students! The video competition theme is “Using STEM to solve important sustainability issues.” Video topics must address: Climate change, natural resources, recyclable materials, biodiversity, air quality, water quality, sustainable foods, the Santa Clara River watershed or another STEM-related topic. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 videos in each of five STEM focus areas (a total of 15 awards!).
Teachers, please consider using this online event as a STEM activity for your classroom! You will not find a more unique and comprehensive offering of STEM-related content anywhere else, from a virtual tour of the famous National Aquarium, to speaking with world renown researchers and business subject matter experts, to celebrity scientists all in one event.
