Have you checked out your local Feminist Bird Club?

The Feminist Bird Club's mission is dedicated to promoting inclusivity in birding while fundraising and providing a safe opportunity for members of the LGBTQIA+ community, BIPOC, and women to connect with the natural world.

The Feminist Bird Club was founded by Molly Adams in 2016 as a way to leverage both their passion for birds and their passion for social justice into a cohesive whole. Since then, the Feminist Bird Club has expanded to chapters across North America and in the Netherlands.

I've participated in several events with my local FBC chapter here in Buffalo, NY. It's been a great way to connect with fellow bird enthusiasts, visit new natural spaces and discuss a variety of topics including everything from decolonizing species names to safety as a woman in the outdoors.

As spring migration picks up there should be lots of events popping up, so find your local chapter today:

Thanks for sharing Sarah. A colleague from Seattle, WA is a member and has also had positive experiences with FBC. Is anyone in the group a current member?
