Youth Civic Engagement Resource and Workshop

Many non-formal educators and youth group leaders want to help their young charges become active, engaged, community citizens, but it is tricky to know how to start. There is a new resource available to help! Come to the pre-conference workshop “Engaging youth groups in community action projects for the environment” and get your copy of the CAPE (Community Action Projects for the Environment) Leader Guide. Register here: https://conference.naaee.org/. The program condenses and simplifies the Earth Force model for classroom teachers into 8 meetings that can be led by a parent volunteer with youth groups ages 11-18, such as 4-H and Scouts. The workshop will be Wednesday morning in Tucson, October 12 from 8:30 to noon. If you have questions, please contact mcmonroe@ufl.edu. CAPE was developed at the University of Florida through ee360+, which is the USEPA EE Training grant to NAAEE.
