Online climate change art program for students

Hi everyone - I hope you are well, and I deeply appreciate all you’re doing to support communities of educators, caretakers, and students right now.

We have received questions wondering if our 2020 Ocean Awareness Contest is being affected by the evolving pandemic. I am grateful to share that the 2020 Contest is open and accepting submissions through our free, online platform. The deadline to participate is June 15th.

Students ages 11-18 are invited to submit Visual Art, Film, Interactive & Multimedia, Music, Poetry, or Prose that explores the theme Climate Hope: Transforming Crisis.

Climate Hope asks for stories that will energize us and accelerate action and collaboration to take on the climate crisis. Participating in the program is an uplifting creative activity for students to engage in during social distancing, as well as a way to show solidarity through a digital action advocating for the health of our planet.

Visit Bow Seat’s Resource Studio for interdisciplinary lesson plans, multimedia, articles, games, and more to support student research on climate change and to inspire their creative projects, Bow Seat also offers $750 Educator Innovation Awards to educators who use the 2020 Ocean Awareness Contest as a teaching tool.

Thank you, and take good care!
