Likely concern about (and response to) Climate Change Education Act

I recently reached out to my congressional delegation to sign onto the Climate Change Education Act that Senator Markey recently introduced. Senator Reed's office had some concerns - which at first was a bit surprising since Reed is always so supportive of anything EE (he was the sponsor of No Child Left Inside). They were worried that this legislation will somehow jeopardize the existing EE programs at EPA and NOAA. Luckily we were able to explain that this new program would have a different revenue stream, namely if/when the carbon fee/tax bill passes, so it wouldn't take anything away from B-WET, etc. This might be helpful to know as you reach out to your senators and representatives.

Good point and thanks for sharing that. We'll update our materials to have that information very clear to both all of the advocates, and the more public facing materials that the legislative offices might access. Thanks!
