Overview:
The American Youth Foundation’s Miniwanca is seeking highly qualified candidates to fill the position of Outdoor Education Program Staff. This position runs from April 3, 2017, through October 29, 2017. Responsibilities include group facilitation for spring and fall school programs, adventure trip leader or coordinator role on our summer camp program team (DOE), facilitation of our Leadership Conferences, and the completion of an individual project. All team members must commit to 10 days of staff training upon arrival, which will include facilitation training, site orientation, ARC Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR certification and AYF curriculum orientation. $300-$325/week, DOE. Benefits include housing, meals during program, and health insurance reimbursement. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in any youth, outdoor or education related field or equivalent experience; have a strong passion for positive youth development; some experience with outdoor facilitation; and a demonstrated positive work ethic. Experience with challenge courses, environmental education, lifeguarding or WFA/WFR a plus, but not required.
