Phipps is seeking a full-time Wellness and Sustainability Specialist to act as a change agent, connecting human and environmental health within Phipps and other organizations. The Wellness and Sustainability Specialist will serve as an advocate, inspiring others by sharing the knowledge Phipps has gathered about sustainability and connecting human and environmental health in our design projects and operations. This will be done by serving as a consultant in Studio Phipps in areas related to wellness and sustainability. Studio Phipps offers its clients a unique perspective in identifying opportunities to connect humans to nature through biophilic and ecological design. The Wellness and Sustainability Specialist will offer expertise on developing and implementing targeted sustainable and wellness practice standards to both operations and the built environment.
Principal responsibilities will be to serve as a consultant within Studio Phipps, leading a sustainable design and operations workshop series to educate outside organizations on specialty topics related to the Living Building Challenge, WELL, SITES and LEED. Additional topics include: biophilia, worksite wellness, integrative and green design, etc., as well as to network with local, regional, and national companies and organizations to expose them to the offerings of Studio Phipps related to wellness and sustainability. The Wellness and Sustainability Specialist will also work internally at Phipps, overseeing initiatives related to the WELL Building Program in design and implementation and providing resources to encourage staff to adopt healthier lifestyle choices at Phipps and at home.
The ideal candidate understands the interconnection between human and ecological health and wellness and has a passion for finding workable solutions to wellness and sustainability challenges. A bachelor’s degree in Health and Wellness, or a related field, along with an understanding of sustainability and biophilia principles is required. Candidates with a design, environmental, construction or related degree will be considered if they have demonstrated knowledge of human health. LEED project experience required. LEED, WELL and SITES AP preferred. The selected candidate must be able to become WELL AP certified if not already.
