Overview:
Brooklyn Botanic Garden has been a leader in providing local children and teens with hands-on gardening and science instruction for more than 100 years. BBG has teaching positions available this summer in a number of its hands-on gardening and science enrichment programs. Summer Instructors gain valuable experience working with professional educators in a botanically rich and diverse 52-acre garden within the country’s largest metropolis.
Duration: Mandatory training—June 14–July 1, 2016; teaching program runs 6–7 weeks in July and August
Hours: 25–35 hours per week, depending on position
Qualifications: College-level studies or career experience in education, urban agriculture, nutrition, botany, or environmental or biological sciences. Must have experience teaching children. Ideal candidates will have experience and comfort working with youth and staff from diverse backgrounds.
