At Greenacres, we are lifelong learners who believe in the holistic management of grass-grazed livestock, intensive regenerative gardening, and a focus on improving the health of the soil without the use of synthetic fertilizers. Generative Agriculture is foundational to Greenacres mission and serves as the basis for all land management decisions. Our Arts, Agriculture, and Environment Education departments utilize and support generative agriculture and its positive impact on our natural areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Sustainable Agriculture, Environmental Science, Animal Science, Agriculture Education or other Biologic Science
  • Demonstrated teaching skills and a passion for working with youth using hands-on activities in small-group settings
  • Have a minimum of 2 ½ years teaching experience, preferably in K-8 in a traditional or non-traditional place
  • Prior experience with livestock (cattle, sheep, swine, poultry) husbandry and management, vegetable production or greenhouse growing
  • Capability to act as main contact to coordinate and conduct middle and high school service groups. 
  • Previous involvement with holistic management farm practices is preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Commitment to working within a functional team and collaborative culture
  • Travel to all current and future educational sites is required. Sites currently include Indian Hill, OH, Lewis Township, OH and Oldenburg, IN.
  • Ability to successfully pass a post-offer pre-employment drug test and fingerprint FBI background screen
  • Desire to live a life of service to others by providing hands-on educational experiences focused on Agriculture.
  • Ability to work with both internal and external partners with the same or very different backgrounds to ensure that all who visit Greenacres get the highest quality experience that addresses their needs
  • Knowledge or proven ability to obtain knowledge of best practices in Agriculture Education
  • Ability to work with a team of dedicated educators to assure QQQ, Grace, Green, and Good Neighbor Policy.
