Overview:
The Luing Family Internship Program is designed to introduce you to the Environmental Education and Interpretation profession and further your career, all while you explore one of America’s most incredible natural areas. So if being wet, muddy, and happy at day's end sounds like your dream job, then we want you at The Wetlands Institute!
As Environmental Education Interns, you will lead or participate in the following:
- Educational Salt Marsh Safari Walks
- Fishing, Seining and Crabbing Programs
- Back-bay Kayak and Boat Tours
- Aquarium Feeding Programs
- Daily Creature Feature Presentations
- Interpretive Dune, Beach and Nature Walks
- Summer Nature Programs
- Local Outreach Events
- School Programs
- Special Events
This internship has the following requirements:
- A degree in biology, marine biology, environmental science, education or related field
- Must have completed at least two years of college
- Reliable transportation, automobile preferred
- Must be comfortable working on boats
- There is no housing available for this internship. Applicant must be able to live and commute locally.

Compensation Information:
Interns work 40 hours per week (one weekend day and one or two evenings required), receive a weekly stipend of $160.00 and a summer living stipend of $500.00.
