Overview:
The Outdoor Education Program Supervisor is part of a team of passionate educators and learners committed to providing transformative concept-based outdoor science education experiences. They supervise seasonal staff and manage program logistics as well as assisting the manager with staff onboarding and the daily operation of the site. They contribute to dismantling barriers and increasing inclusion and accessibility for all staff and participants.
Position Responsibilities
You must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or qualify for an accommodation under the ADA for medical or religious reasons.
- Act as the liaison between OMSI Outdoor Education team and leadership, group leaders, teachers, the OMSI registrar, and area partners. Manages and tracks multiple user groups, projects, and/or curricula to successfully address participant needs and experiences
- Provides direct supervision of seasonal Outdoor Science Instructors and Camp Counselors. Responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, and evaluation of staff;
- Responsible for managing the logistics of the daily program schedules for spring outdoor school and/or summer camp;
- Assist meal service and clean dining hall, cabins, restrooms and staff housing, during and at the end of each program;
- Recognize, mitigate, and respond to hazards to ensure a healthy and safe program for all participants;
- Actively integrate diversity, equity, access and inclusion in all areas, such as thoughtfully incorporating adult participants into the program.
- This position is Seasonal, scheduled to work January 17, 2022 – November 4, 2022.
