Overview:
This is an hourly, 11-month position starting Summer 2019. This position will work weekends, and specific schedule will be set upon hire. Hours vary seasonally. It is classified as temporary/part-time and does not include state benefits.

Description of Work:
Educators are responsible for presenting a variety of educational programs for aquarium visitors and the general public. This position will present live animal programs, feedings, and dive shows, and engage with visitors at our on-the-floor exhibits such as bald eagle, touch pools, and sea turtle. Educators will be responsible for answering visitor inquires, and assisting with animal care. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, experience with presenting in an informal education setting, experience working with live animals, have a strong work ethic and positive attitude, knowledge of NC coastal species and willingness to be flexible. This position will include workdays on weekends, evenings and holidays.
Education and Experience:
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of experience as related to knowledge, skills, and abilities in area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
