Overview:

The Program Coordinator-Individual Placement Programs (PC) position is responsible for supporting and strengthening the overall programming of the Montana Conservation Corps’ (MCC) Individual Placement Programs (IP).  The PC works under the direct supervision of the Associate Director of Individual Placement Programs to ensure successful implementation of IP programming.  The PC will foster and support AmeriCorps member professional development and serve as a mentor and resource for program participants.  The PC will also work closely with IPP staff to ensure program compliance (reporting/administration), enhance educational programs and foster current partnerships to improve local landscapes and communities.  The PC must establish and maintain a good working relationship with IP members, Host Site staff, community members, volunteers, MCC staff and additional IP partners.  
 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support all aspects of IP program reporting/administration to ensure program compliance
  • Foster and support member professional development and serve as a mentor and resource for program participants
  • Expand educational programs, assist with program sponsored training events and evaluate/design curriculum relevant to MCC’s Program Objectives
  • Enhance outreach and awareness of the IP programs and its partners
  • Foster and support member driven projects and expand on current partnerships to improve local landscapes and communities

 

Qualifications & Skills:

Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to take initiative, handle multiple projects, track details essential to project completion, analyze information, and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Previous experience working directly with, and in support of, young adults in internship/corps settings
  • Passion for the outdoors and enthusiasm for enhancing landscapes
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with diverse groups of people
  • Previous AmeriCorps experience
  • Ability to attend training or events across the state, which require overnight stays

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • College degree (B.A./B.S.), preferably in administration/business, watershed, agriculture, environment, or education related field
  • Strong interpersonal and administrative skills with a significant attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and G Suite for businesses, Adobe, and cloud-based collaborative systems
  • Minimum age of 21
  • A valid driver’s license, ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records check and ability to be insurable per MCC parameters
