Climate Change in the Classroom: NYC Climate Week Training

Learning

Date and Time:

Wednesday, September 25, 2019, 8:30am

Registration Deadline:

Wednesday, September 25, 2019, 3:00pm

Organization:

Celebrate Climate Week NYC! Join EcoRise and fellow NYC teachers for a day of learning and collaboration to shape your students’ understanding of the causes and impact of climate change within their community. Empower them to solve sustainability challenges on your campus through scientific inquiry, eco-audits, and the use of classroom grants to make student solutions to climate challenges a reality.

Through hands-on professional learning, teachers will develop the skills and tools they need to help their students evaluate sustainability issues related to energy, transportation, waste, water, food, air, and public spaces. Teachers will access EcoRise's Sustainable Intelligence and Design Studio curricula to empower their students to address the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and design effective, place-based solutions to climate change.

We're excited to hold this event in partnership with Salesforce and the DOE Office of Sustainability. EcoRise teachers in New York City have access to the Sustainable Intelligence Program through the generous support of Salesforce.org.

How to Register:

Please register at nycclimateweek.eventbrite.com. The training is expected to fill up quickly, but you can still be an EcoRise educator this school year! Get started today at www.ecorise.org/enroll. We will notify you when more NYC trainings are happening.
