The Audubon Naturalist Society (ANS) seeks a highly motivated and creative individual for the 2020 Camp Audubon season. Camp Audubon offers day and overnight programs for children ages 3.5-17. Camp is based at our 40-acre nature sanctuary in Chevy Chase, MD. ANS provides a dynamic work environment with friendly, creative, and knowledgeable staff. The Preschool Nature Camp Director will teach 5 weeks of morning preschool camps (8:45am-12pm), assist with drop-off and pick-up of AM and Full-day preschool campers, and act as liaison with parents. This position will oversee two PreK (ages 3.5-5) camps per week with a total of 32 campers and 4 staff each week. This is a 10 week, 40-hr per week summer position starting on June 15th and ending on August 21st. Pay range is $18-$20 per hour.  

Requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree or working towards degree with courses in education or related field 
• Experience working with preschool-aged children and families 
• Experience communicating with parents 
• Organized and punctual 
• Compassionate and patient 
• Interested, knowledgeable and excited about the natural world 
• Must enjoy working outside in all weather 
• Must be able to navigate uneven terrain 
• Must be able to carry up to 40 pounds 
• Past camp experience a plus 
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification (provided by ANS)
