Overview:
Join the faculty at a small Christian College in Western NC, just outside of Asheville. The candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of courses in outdoor education and adventure leadership and participating in continuous improvement of the curriculum. Additional responsibilities include advising students, participating on faculty committees, and other duties as described in the Faculty Handbook.
The ideal candidate will have a vision for the future of Christian outdoor and adventure leadership, training and/or experience as facilitator and educator, and a set of outdoor/backcountry skills. Experience in the management of an outdoor-related industry is preferred. The successful candidate will also demonstrate support for Christian liberal arts education and the specific ability to integrate faith and the discipline into the coursework in a compelling, thoughtful manner.
Teaching excellence and a willingness to serve the broader college community through service and committee work are also expected.
Education/Experience: An earned doctorate in outdoor education or leadership, or closely related field, is preferred, master’s degree required. Teaching experience at the college level is desirable.
