Program Overview and Job Summary:

The School-Based Programs Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation of programs directly serving the students of Summit School District, including staff, administrative, and financial management. Such programs include the CATCH Afterschool Program, Summer CATCH Camp, and grant funded day programs serving the students of Summit School District. The School-Based Programs Manager directly supervises a full-time year round School-Based Program Coordinator, CATCH Afterschool Programs Coordinators and Facilitators, and a team dedicated to the Summer CATCH Camp. In collaboration with the Director of Education, the Programs Manager also develops new curriculum and lessons specific to the goals of each program. The School-Based Programs Manager also works in partnership with the marketing and registration department to provide all communication to the prospective students.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties for this position are:

  • 60% Staff Managament
  • 30% Adminstration and Financial Managment
  • 10% Customer Service

Staff Management

  • Provide direct supervision and management to year-round Program Coordinator, and oversee program specific staffing charts includes all hiring, training, and coaching;
  • Partner with Program Management and Vision Team to serve as the emergency contact for programs. It is expected that this would include 2 night a month;
  • Partner with Program Managers and Program Coordinators to schedule, train, and evaluate program Instructors and Facilitators assigned to School-Based Programs.

Administration and Financial Management

  • Accountable for the creation and management of expense budgets for all programs under the responsibility of this position;
  • Forecast and report on all expenses associated with the implementation of programs under the responsibility of this position;
  • Partner with the Director of Education in the management and development of new curricula options;
  • Teaching and facilitating programs on an as needed basis.

Customer Service

  • Partner with the Director of Marketing and Innovation and the Marketing department to support program marketing and outreach efforts;
  • Support customer experience team on an as needed basis.

Our required education, experience, and certifications:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree;
  • Current Wilderness First Aid (WFA) and CPR certifications, from an approved vendor, or the ability to obtain within the first 90 days of employment;
  • Minimum of 2 years experience managing staff;
  • Minimum of 2 years experience teaching outdoor education program or classroom setting;
  • Candidates must complete a pre-employment physical exam;
  • Age 21+ with a minimum of 5 years driving experience, excellent driving record, and a valid driver's license;
  • Must be able to successfully pass a comprehensive background check.

In addition to the above required talents, our ideal candidate will have these preferred skillsets:

  • Experience with risk management practices of the outdoor and environmental education industry;
  • Desired computer skills include proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.);
  • Basic Comprehension of the Spanish language via written and/or verbal form.
