Overview:
The Ashokan Center is seeking dedicated, hard-working, enthusiastic, artistic, musically-inclined, responsible and environmentally-minded Program Instructors throughout the school year to share their love of nature, history, and adventure with students of all ages. Responsibilities include teaching experiential-based day and evening classes, facilitating challenge courses, cooperative team initiatives and low ropes elements, supervising students in recreational activities, and developing new programs. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree, an in-depth knowledge of natural systems and the environment, a strong work ethic, a passion for working with children and a willingness to work long hours. Now seeking applicants for the 2018-19 academic year (September to June, with a holiday period from December 17th–January 11th). Compensation Information:
Instructors are paid an hourly wage of $10.40 plus room and board. Private room in a large house. Other benifits include access to prodeals, meals when working and access to onsite facilities such as swimming hole and sauna.
