Water Footprint of Food Guide and Quiz

Because the food people eat comprises the largest slice of an average person’s water footprint, GRACE created two online tools, namely the Water Footprint of Food Guide and the Water Footprint of Food Quiz.

These free and engaging web apps illuminate the complex and crucial connection between water and food so that students and the general public have a better understanding of how their shared water resources are used.

The Water Footprint of Food Guide provides a database of 100-plus common foods and beverages, their water footprints, and some context about their production. The Water Footprint of Food Quiz is a short set of questions that tests people's knowledge about the links between water and food production while utilizing water footprint concepts. The web apps work as a way to capture students' attention and enhance their understanding of how food and water interact.
