Coalition for Education in the Outdoors Research Symposium

Opportunity

Submit an abstract for an oral or poster presentation at the Fifteenth Biennial Coalition for Education in the Outdoors (CEO) Research Symposium, February 11-13, 2022! The last symposium was held in 2018. We are thrilled to bring this event back and to meet in person at the YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly in Black Mountain, North Carolina, USA (https://blueridgeassembly.org/) just following the Wilderness Education Association’s International Conference on Outdoor Leadership to be held at the same location February 9-11, 2022.

Abstracts are due by October 1, 2021. Submission details are posted on the CEO website. Consider sharing your in-progress or completed research studies at this event! Questions about the abstract submission process can be directed to Kendra Liddicoat at kendra.liddicoat@uwsp.edu.

This symposium brings together emerging and established scholars from a host of disciplines. The topics will stem from many contexts (e.g., adventure education, environmental education, summer camp), and the atmosphere is informal. Plenty of time will be allotted to talk with people and establish new connections while reinforcing existing ones. If you care about outdoor education-related research, you won’t want to miss it!

The symposium is also affordable; registration, lodging and meals are: Economy (cabin style): $194; Double Occupancy (hotel style room): $224; Single Occupancy (hotel style room): $314. Registration, lodging and travel details will be available soon. Questions can be directed to Andrew Bobilya at: ajbobilya@2ndnatureTREC.com.

New this year: A partnership with the Journal of Outdoor Recreation, Education and Leadership (JOREL). Authors of abstracts accepted for the CEO Research Symposium are strongly encouraged to submit full manuscripts to be published in a Special Issue of JOREL in late 2022 focused on the CEO Research Symposium.
