Science Conceptual Framework Guides Understanding and Adapting to Climate Change

Learning

This is a Power Point presentation with embedded notes of a workshop presented at 2016 NAAEE Conference. A relatively simple science conceptual framework can help educators and students understand the causes and impacts of climate change, and also guide strategies to locally increase climate resilience.

Presentation and workshop focuses on three online linked interactives that are available through PBS LearningMedia. No requirement for participation. Expected outcome is that you will have a much better understanding of the big ideas of global climate change and a valuable set of resources to use in your education outreach.

You can start exploring by going to pbslearningmedia.org and searching for PCEP Carbon Cycle. The presentation Power Point includes all the links and also ways to engage, lead and debrief learners with the three interactives. It also contains information and resources created by the 7-year NSF-funded project Pacific Island Climate Education Partnership (PCEP) http://pcep.prel.org
