"UL Xplorlabs is a FREE resource for educators, which incorporates Next Generation Science Standards (MS-ETS1 ENGINEERING DESIGN, MS-PS3 ENERGY).  This new resource helps connect classrooms to real-life safety engineering challenges.

Our first module, Portable Electrical Power, teaches students the components of lithium-ion batteries and the power source behind devices such as laptops, tablets, cell phones and hover boards.  This provides a deeper understanding of how energy is conducted, transferred, and recharged.  You can take the Drop Test and experience first-hand an actual test conducted by UL engineers, simulated on Xplorlabs to show students what happens when batteries are pushed to their eXtremes!

UL Xplorlabs received excellent reviews since its launch in late 2016, including a nomination for a MITX Award for best digital educational experience!"
