Date and Time:

The Natural Start Alliance is teaming up with the Evanston Public Library to shine a spotlight on the Blueberry Awards, a new literary award. The Blueberry Award winners represent excellence in ecologically-focused children’s literature intended to strengthen young readers’ connection with nature and encourage stewardship of the environment. Winners are chosen by a committee of librarians and environmentalists.

Join us on Wednesday, December 7 at 1:30 PM ET/10:30 AM PT!

What to expect:

This webinar will explore the books that make up the 2021 Blueberry Award winner, honors, and changemakers, a list that was released earlier this year. We’ll be looking into what makes a children’s book about nature stand out, how books written for young children are exploring nature connection, sustainability, and environmental stewardship, and why that matters.

The awards committee will share some incredible books from 2021 and give a sneak preview of their favorite books being considered for the 2022 Blueberry Awards. You’ll walk away with new ideas about the power of story and a list of books to add to your classroom library!

The webinar is free and open to all. Registration is required. A recording will be shared after the live event.
