What are Sky Days?

Sky Days are celebrations of our climate and sky. A day to reflect on what our climate means to us all and does for us all. A day to create art about it, do science about it, learn about how it functions, what it’s vulnerabilities are and a day to take positive actions in your community. Hosted by responsible organizations worldwide, (list) when to host your Sky Day is totally up to you! They can be held anytime including on International Sky Day itself (September 24, 2021). Learn more.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Sign up for your free Sky Gallery. Please use an email address you check regularly. This is how you will receive your projects each month and how you we will be notified when your Sky Gallery is ready for you!
  2. Every first of the month (January to May 2021) we will send to your inbox a lesson plan for an imaginative educational art project to do with your class. Simply take a Friday (or any day!) that month to have a great time doing the project. Here’s the first one so you can see how fun it’s going to be SkyDay Friday January.
  3. Then post the results to your Sky Gallery (easy) and share their beautiful work with the world! Parents, kids… EVERYONE will enjoy watching your Sky Gallery grow!

All teachers who participate will receive our printable SkyDay Friday Master Teacher Certificate, and one lucky class will get to zoom with SkyDay’s amazing Astronaut and Artist Nicole Stott and ask her questions about space, art… whatever they are curious about!
