Overview:
We are looking for two individuals who are interested in learning about seabird restoration and natural history, and then sharing solid environmental interpretation with members of the public, both on tourboats and at our walk-in visitor center in Rockland, Maine. You must be familiar with birds and birding, have an outgoing personality, not get seasick, and be flexible with your schedule. Also, during your two weeks on an offshore seabird nesting island, you will be living under relatively primitive conditions, surrounded by birds, and in all kinds of challenging weather. (But its fun and a terrific learning opportunity, in a social environment) Ideal candidates will be studying biology, zoology, environmental education, environmental studies, etc..
How to Apply:
This position will be listed and thoroughly described on the National Audubon Society Careers Center sometime later this month, and it is required of all applicants to go through that official portal. However, if you are interested at this point, please send a brief letter of interest and a resume to Pete Salmansohn, Education Coordinator, at psalmansohn@audubon.org
