Overview:

North Cascades Institute seeks an innovative problem solver to join our dynamic team as a Salesforce and Website Administrator to manage the Institute’s database (Salesforce) and website (Plone). The Administrator will work with development consultants to ensure the platforms work optimally for the Institute’s mission and goals and in alignment with current business processes. In addition to ensuring creation of the right technology solutions, the Administrator also manages all staff Salesforce onboarding and training, managing upgrades and ensuring best practice uses across all staff and departments. North Cascades Institute has a highly customized Salesforce Instance that manages all of our operations including programs and registrations, meals and lodging, as well as acts as a typical CRM for fundraising, marketing and management. Our ideal candidate will be skilled at “seeing both the forest and the trees,” and the complex network connecting them together.

 

LOCATION

This position will work in a hybrid model with a combination of remote and occasional on-site work out of the Institute’s Sedro Woolley office and the North Cascades Environmental Learning Center in Diablo, WA and may require very occasional overnight travel.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Database Administration (Salesforce)

  • Provide general administration and manage ongoing development of the system to meet the organization’s mission.
  • Assist in administration, reporting needs and maintenance of the Salesforce database and associated end users.
  • Manage proper utilization of the database, including overseeing the use and maintenance of data, documentation and reports; write documentation; develop and provide training and ongoing support for end users; and coordinate user roles and permissions.
  • Manage outsourced Salesforce development partners, and in cooperation with them, develop solutions and provide custom applications to support processes across the organization.
  • Through the use of requirements gathering and research of best practices, provide technical solutions that best support the mission of the organization, user needs, automation, and integration with internal and external systems.

Website Administration (Plone)

  • Provide general administration and manage ongoing development of the system to meet the organization’s mission.
  • Manage outsourced Plone development partners, and in cooperation with them, troubleshoot and resolve issues, develop solutions and provide customizations to support all online processes needed for the organization.
  • Manage proper utilization of the website, including: write documentation, develop and conduct training, and provide ongoing support for all end users.
  • Oversee and maintain all integrations including the database (Salesforce) and payment service provider (Authorize.net), as well as any other automations and integrations with internal and external systems. 

Additional Systems Support

  • Provide additional support to the Institute’s IT Manager as assigned.
  • Support equity initiatives at North Cascades Institute and actively contribute to NCI as a community of belonging that is welcoming and accessible to everyone.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Salesforce experience (admin-level experience and experience working with Salesforce.org’s Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) and the Lightning platform)
  • Either have or are motivated to obtain Salesforce Administrator Certification
  • Experience working with website content management systems (such as Plone, Wordpress or Drupal)
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills
  • Always looking for ways to improve and be receptive to feedback and the ideas of others
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong time management and ability to manage shifting priorities
  • Passion for the Institute’s goal to connect people, nature and community
  • Commitment to building a work environment that is welcoming and inclusive to all
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record check must have no more than one moving violation in the past three years, no DUI, reckless driving, or serious moving violations, etc.
  • Final offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check that may include employment history, national criminal background check, national sex offender registry search and a driving history check.

Preferred

  • Working knowledge of SOQL or SQL
  • Experience with App Integrations and the Salesforce AppExchange
  • Experience with document generation and electronic signature solutions (particularly: using Conga)
  • Experience with other nonprofit tools and databases (particularly: Campaign Monitor, CalendarAnything, iWave, Conga, Authorize.net, G-Connector for Salesforce, Salesforce for Gmail, SurveyMonkey, Embark, Slack, Lightspeed, Double-the-Donation)
  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS
  • Experience working with Plone CMS
  • Experience with broadcast email platforms like Campaign Monitor
  • Experience working with Google Analytics and Google Adwords

 

COMPENSATION

This is a regular, 0.8 FTE, non-exempt position located in Sedro-Woolley, Washington with remote work options and a wage range of $21 to $24 per hour based on experience. We offer a competitive compensation package including paid time-off, medical/dental insurance, long and short-term disability insurance, life insurance, tax-defined annuity and contribution retirement plan, and a yearly stipend to participate in Institute programs.
