Mountain Village School is a nature-based early childhood program in the village of Stowe, Vermont. We are currently looking for a preschool teacher to join us for the 2021-2022 school year. Full-time position, 40 hours per week. We spend a considerable amount of time outside each day.

Responsibilities: 

• Planning and implementing curriculum that is developmentally appropriate, open-ended, process-oriented, as well as based on children's interests. 
• Teachers manage the classroom effectively with compassion, empathy, attention to detail, and problem-solving strategies. Teachers develop an intentional environment that encourages children’s independence and self-selection of activities. The environment should recognize and celebrate children’s ideas, initiatives, and creativity.
• Regular communication with parents is by means of meetings, newsletters, email, and individual parent conferences.

Education and Experience:

• Candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in education or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 1 year of classroom experience is required. 
• CPR and First Aid certified or be willing to obtain
• Education and/or experience in outdoor education for preschoolers, with deep knowledge of the Northeast ecosystem, is preferred.
