Join our team of leaders and learners! We are looking for local regional and countrywide educators that enjoy the outdoors and are inspired by the opportunity to make a difference through mentorship and positive youth development. Working at MESD Outdoor School is an opportunity to deepen and broaden skills around leadership, mentorship and management. ODS Educator Positions are seasonal in the Spring and Fall, living and working on site.

We support our staff in achieving educational and career goals. With the experience and support we provide many ODS Educators go on to careers as classroom teachers, school counselors or supervising youth programs.

How you will make an impact..

Our model at Outdoor School is always supporting students where they are at, and everyone is welcome. You will teach students science and social-emotional skills in the beautiful Oregon wilderness. MESD Outdoor School teaches 6th graders and mentor high school students to become teachers and leaders themselves in a unique and enriching camp environment. MESD Outdoor School is a state-funded multi-day science program with a focus on inquiry and community development.

Who are we?

We are a 60-year-old program operating out of Portland, OR. We support our staff with present and caring supervisors, team support and development, relevant professional training, and collaboration. We offer the security of working within a school district, with many job opportunities working with students in the off-seasons as well as relationships with other Outdoor Schools in Oregon.
