Overview:
At YMCA Camp Colman, located on 110 acres of forested, beachfront property, we work to create an inclusive, low-risk environment in which youth from all over Western Washington are empowered to discover their unique strengths and talents, and encouraged to share those with their peers, their community, and the environment. During the spring season, mid-February through mid-June, 2018, we will invite thousands of participants to explore, encourage their curiosity, guide critical thinking and support their effort in the Environmental Sciences, Outdoor Skills, and Challenge Education. Educators lead classes, tend to the organic garden, care for the marine invertebrates in the touch tanks, facilitate on the challenge course, maintain facilities, and have opportunities to collaborate with a team to create curriculum, develop programming and grow professionally. Educators live on-site in a compassionate, hard-working community. We are committed to creating a community of equity and inclusion for our diverse staff and participants. In addition to housing, educators also receive food and a $58-65 daily stipend DOE. Applicants should be passionate about the sciences and the outdoors, experienced in working with youth, have a degree or experience in a related field and must be over 21.
How to Apply:
