Overview:

Duties: Plan and teach outdoor education and adventure classes to groups of students 10 - 14 yrs. old; supervise outdoor recreation activities for schools and youth groups visiting camp; assist with curriculum development and planning; maintain specialized outdoor education equipment; assist with special programs and events; when needed, assist with cleaning and preparation of camp facilities; help maintain key hiking trails; lead or assist hikes, night hike programs or boat trips. Requirements: Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Education, Biology, Botany or related field; must be comfortable outdoors and familiar with outdoor recreation and natural sciences; capable of supervising children; some knowledge of at least 3 key curriculum subjects (high ropes, low ropes, rock climbing, boating, lifeguarding, ecology, pioneer skills, colonial history, fishing, nature crafts, peer counseling, maps, archery, riflery, limnology, hiking, Native American lifestyles, plant and animal identification, and sciences); first aid, CPR and lifeguarding will be needed, we will provide training and certification. Benefits: Stipend paid for seasonal contract, pro-rated on a bi-weekly basis, additional to fully paid room and board. $300-$320 per week. Evening program work pays an additional $15 per hour. Workman's Compensation Insurance provided to all staff. Fall season runs August 22nd – November 20th 2016. Option available for continued employment through spring and summer seasons for exceptional staff.
