Lead PreKindergarten Teacher job posting
Responsibilities of the Lead PreKindergarten Teacher will include:
- Providing education to young children (ages 4 – 5 years) drawing inspiration from the Reggio Emilia approach, utilizing flow learning and an emergent curriculum with topics stemming from the natural environment and the school’s campus
- Demonstrating confidence and competence in regard to risky play experiences for young children.
- Maintaining a positive attitude while supporting emergent learning in an outdoor setting in all weather conditions.
- Communicating the day’s learning plan and expectations with the Support Teacher
- Organizing the daily preparation and clean-up with care and handling of program materials and equipment.
- Attending appropriate instructor-training workshops.
- Promoting school mission, goals, activities, and events.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in education or liberal arts from an accredited college or university; nature knowledge a plus
- Teaching experience with young children.
- Ability to work effectively and productively as part of a team
- Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 25 lbs. on occasion
- Must feel comfortable standing for extended periods of time
- Must be able to hike up to 5 miles
- Must be first aid/CPR trained
- Must pass fingerprinting background check
- Outdoor enthusiast a plus!
Compensation:
A typical work day is 8:30am-3:30pm, Monday – Friday, with Staff Meeting from 3:30-5pm twice a month on Wednesdays.
This is a salaried school-year position, without medical benefits to begin September 1, 2020. Salary to range between $24,000 - $28,000/10 month year based on experience.
