Overview:

Primary Responsibilities

Education Outreach – Develop, implement and market comprehensive adult education and public programs that compliment aspects of interpretative plan, including: Implementing outdoor recreation type activities, Corporate retreats, Team building, Outreach Programs, and Habitat design consultation.

Natural Resources Management and Coordination- aide in implementing and carrying out the natural resources plan, through volunteers, staff and Citizen Science coordination.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in environmental education/science or related experience
  • Proven Ecological restoration experience, including
  • Equipment usage
  • Prescribed burns
  • Herbicide applications (Inc. ability to obtain Illinois herbicide license)
  • Corporate relations experience
  • Proven public speaking experience, in front of variety of audiences, including professionals, volunteers, and children
  • Certified Interpretative Guide preferred or the ability to become certified as soon as practical
  • Experience with volunteer coordination
  • Proven interest in sustainability concerns
  • Willingness to work and care for a variety of animals
  • Assist on occasion with education programs
  • Ability and willingness to conduct physical work outside in all conditions

Compensation

$45,000-$50,000 per annum
