Overview:

Mountain Sage Community School seeks a Math Interventionist to support student success by providing math interventions for 1st through 8th grade in our Waldorf-inspired, sustainability-focused public school located in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Essential Functions

  • Support student success by providing math interventions for 1st through 8th grade 
  • Use diagnostic assessment tools and interpret data to identify the specific intervention needs of students  
  • Working knowledge of a variety of appropriate, research-based math interventions 
  • Establish positive relationships with students and parents to actively engage them in the learning process 
  • Monitor the effectiveness and pacing of instruction relative to class and individual progress and proficiency 
  • Evaluate student performance in relation to grade level standards and individual progress 
  • Organize and maintain student work folders 
  • Consult with and coach classroom teachers about general classroom interventions and strategies 
  • Actively participate in the MSCS Intervention Committee 
  • Actively participate in the Student Success Team (SST) process, when needed 
  • Knowledge of positive reinforcement behavior model techniques 
  • Ability to maintain an orderly and engaging classroom 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Operating knowledge of personal computers, including word processing skills, and typical office equipment 
  • Commitment to professional collaboration

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field 
  • PRAXIS certification, or appropriate Colorado teaching license 
  • Ability to stand or sit for an hour or more, as well as work outside in various weather conditions to support student drop off and pick up traffic duties, recess, and other needs
  • Three years of experience working with students in an intervention setting

Compensation

Base salary is $36,000 with increases commensurate with experience. We offer competitive compensation, state retirement benefits (PERA), health benefits and yearly professional development opportunities.
