A New Leaf School of Nashville is seeking a co-teacher for our Reggio inspired nature school. Our students travel through labs and studios on our 10 acre farm. The ratio is 2 to 16 and students are in a mixed age group from K to 3rd grade.

The ideal candidate would be available for in-service from July 25th to August 5th and our school year from August 8th to May 31st. Employment throughout our fantastic summer camps is also encouraged.

School Work Hours and Tasks

• 8:00am-4:30pm Monday to Friday
• 30 minutes break

Contact and non-contact hours to include

• Teaching, co-researching, and emerging a negotiated curriculum with 100 languages and projects.
• Planning explorations, lessons, activities, and projects, with writing weekly intentions lesson plans.
• Creating individual child documentation/portfolios and report cards relating assessment of development, interests, participation, and academic skills along the TN standards with a concentration on science, sustainability and social justice.
• Collaborating with the garden and farmer educators to grow the garden and care for the farm animals.
• Participating in sustainable farm improvement projects.
• Documentation to make the learning visible.
• Communication with parents including weekly photo albums with documentation, and parent-teacher conferences. Present a review, presentation, improvement, and fidelity to the parent handbook.
• Activate parent engagement with different types of “homework”.
• Daily and weekly meetings in person (some on zoom) with co-teachers, educators, farmers, and with all faculty of A New Leaf.
• Participation in In-service days and professional development.
• Implement our project on Consent and the Keeping Kids Safe-Personal Safety Curriculum

Pay and Benefits

• $19/hour
• Paid planning Time: 5 hours a week.
• Planned paid time off on A New Leaf’s holidays and calendar breaks: 28 days intended for relaxation, reflection, and tending to professional development requirements.
